Antipole cruises

Cruise Plan 2018 – Finland, Sweden & Denmark

We will return to Imatra at the end of April, once snow and ice have cleared, and prepare Antipole for the 2018 season.  Some time in May we will pass out through the Saimaa canal.  This involves passing back into Russian territory and waters and then out to the Finnish island of Santio, where we can re-enter the EU.  From Santio we will be exploring westwards along the Finnish archipelago to Helsinki, where we will spend some days.  Then it will be further west towards Hanko, again taking in the extensive Turku archipelago.  We then intend to visit the Åland islands located between Finland and Sweden.

We plan to then visit the Swedish coast, Stockholm and the islands of Gotland and Öland and the Danish island of Bornholm.

We like to take our time exploring.  We will be working against the prevailing westerly winds, cannot be sure of an exact schedule and are uncertain where we will end the 2018 season.  Perhaps it will be in Copenhagen, if we get that far.

As ever, family and friends will be very welcome to join us and we hope you will take the opportunity to share what will be an amazing experience.  The Finnish coast and Stockholm area are very sheltered waters amongst numerous islands and suitable for even the youngest sailor.  The later passages are somewhat longer. Contact us to discuss when you could be available and we can look at adjusting our plans accordingly.
